Cancellation Policy
Substitutions can be made at any time. All cancellation requests for Summit 2024 must be in writing to NA_Events@sapiens.com. Full refunds minus a $200 administrative fee will be granted only on written requests received on or before Friday, August 2, 2024. No refunds will be granted after that date.

Canceling your registration does not automatically cancel your lodging reservation and must be handled directly with the hotel.

In the unlikely event the meeting is cancelled, Sapiens will refund the total registration fee. However, Sapiens will not be responsible for any travel, hotel accommodations, or other costs incurred.

Breakout Sessions Life: Open Insurance: Are life insurers embracing it?  

Nicolas' research concentrates on continental European insurance markets with a specific focus on continental Europe and insurance systems including life policy administration, customer communication management, predictive analytics and data technology providers.

Since joining Celent, Nicolas has advised multiple insurance companies and vendors on IT and business strategies including strategic IT programme alignment, partnership evaluation, conceptualization of cross-country system implementations, and IT vendor selection and strategy.

Nicolas has been often quoted in specialized insurance and IT magazines including Insurance Networking News, Insurance & Technology, and PropertyCasualty360 (a National Underwriter website) and also in international newspapers’ websites such as The New York Times, The Guardian, CBS News and Tages Anzeiger.

Nicolas started his career in the financial industry with CREDIT SUISSE. He moved to the insurance sector after completing his MBA, taking over a management position at UNIQA, the Swiss subsidiary of the second largest Austrian insurance company. He eventually became part-time CEO of the Swiss entity and moved to the UNIQA Group headquarters in Vienna, Austria. There he led projects for the international entity of the group in various Eastern European countries.

Patrice has 35+ years of experience in the IT and financial industry.

As the Regional Business Leader for Financial Services in EMEA, he focuses on Microsoft’s strategy and business development for Banking, Capital Markets and Insurances.

He works with his team on large transformational projects with the 50+ top Banks and Insurances headquartered in EMEA, leading the way to Innovation and Cloud though Industry Solutions and Partners. He is also a recognized official Microsoft spokesman, FSI thought leader and EMEA Executive Sponsor, and speaks French, English and German.

Craig Beattie, Research & Advisory, CELENT  
Breakout Sessions P&C: Navigating the Future - Key Technology Trends in Insurance  

Craig brings extensive experience in the use of enterprise architecture and applications architecture practices in the insurance industry, working with and within insurers.

Craig has advised insurers on IT strategy, legacy modernization, insurance vendor analysis and enterprise architecture topics, principally in the EMEA region. Since joining Celent, he has been a speaker at industry events in North America and London, as well as Celent events in Europe. He has spoken on topics such as the influence of mobile on the industry, the use of social networks by insurers and how the evolving use of the Internet, data and IoT will influence insurance in the future.

Recent consulting clients have engaged Craig for policy administration vendor analyses, market entry strategies, and product messaging work for insurance vendors.

Prior to joining Celent, Craig was an applications architect with Royal Bank of Scotland Group's Strategy and Architecture team, working extensively with RBS Insurance.

Itay Talgam, Conductor and Leadership Expert 
Lead Like the Great Conductors

Itay Talgam, mentored by Leonard Bernstein, has led major orchestras globally and pioneered leadership talks rooted in musical collaboration. After presenting classical music to bank managers in 1996, he delved into leadership studies, using orchestra dynamics as metaphors for organisational behaviour. Talgam's workshops aim to instil musicians' collaboration and conductors' leadership in everyday people, emphasising intuitive connection and responsiveness. His TED Talk 'Lead Like the Great Conductors' has over 4 million views, lauded as essential for aspiring leaders. His book 'The Ignorant Maestro' explores leadership nuances through renowned conductors' diverse styles, addressing the balance between control and creative freedom. Lorenzo Chan Jr., President & CEO Pioneer Inc./Pioneer Group Head
Keynote speaker

Lorenzo Chan Jr. is President and CEO of Pioneer Inc., the holding company of the Pioneer Group of insurance companies in the Philippines. Throughout his career at Pioneer, one that had him honing his expertise in both the general and life insurance businesses, he had always envisioned providing every Filipino with the insurance they needed.  Seeking to make the often overlooked lower end of the pyramid more risk-resilient, Lorenzo has led significant initiatives, notably establishing "bite-sized" or sachet insurance tailored for middle and low-income markets, resulting in Pioneer's leadership in the microinsurance sector with over 30 million enrolments.  Lorenzo's pioneering work in microinsurance has made him an in-demand speaker at forums worldwide. Today, microinsurance is a viable, growing business for Pioneer companies, spearheaded by CARD Pioneer, a joint venture with CARD MRI, the country's biggest microfinance institution. 

A staunch advocate for inclusive insurance, he recently co-authored a book about CARD Pioneer's microinsurance journey.  The book is commercially sold in selected local bookstores and available on Kindle via Amazon.   

Outside Pioneer, he became the first practitioner and first Asian to chair the Luxembourg-based Microinsurance Network, a non-profit global multi-stakeholder platform that promotes inclusive insurance to low-income households worldwide.  He is also a member of the Advisory Committee on Climate Resilience of the World Bank's Consultative Group to Assist the Poor (CGAP), a global partnership working to advance the life of the poor through financial inclusion.
